SEASONING
The Pyron Plate is coated ex works with food-
safe paraffi n oil in order to prevent corrosion.
However, you must season your Pyron Plate
before using it for the fi rst time.
1. Add some high-temperature cooking oil
(such as sunfl ower, peanut oil or coconut
fat) onto the Pyron Plate, so that it is well
covered. Spread the grease over the whole
surface, e. g. with a brush.
2. When the Pyron Plate is hot, add 1-2 tbsp.
of fi ne salt.
3. After a while, the surface of your Pyron
Plate changes colour and becomes dark
in places or entirely and the characteristic
patina develops.
4. Remove salt residues from the Pyron Pla-
te and let the plate cool down. Clean the
Pyron Plate with hot water. Then dry tho-
roughly and grease the entire plate.
5. The Feuerhand Pyron Plate is now ready
for use. After each use simply clean the
Pyron Plate with hot water or wipe with
kitchen paper. As a protection against cor-
rosion there should always be a thin layer
of grease. The seasoning process can be
repeated as often as desired.
NOTE FOR USE
When using the Pyron together with the Py-
ron Plate, the fi re may stop burning for a
short moment with increasing smoke deve-
lopment. This can happen when the Pyron
is fi lled to high or if ventilation is too low.
To solve this problem. Add small, dry tinder
or use a match too ignite the smoke. The
smoke development will stop immediately.
CLEANING, CARE AND
STORAGE
Before storing the Pyron Plate after use, let
the fi re in the Pyron burn down completely.
Do not pour water into the Fire Barrel to
extinguish the fi re but have a bucket of sand
or a powder fi re extinguisher nearby in case
of emergency. You can remove the plate as
soon as it is cooled down and clean it.
CLEANING AND CARE
Please clean the Pyron Plate after each use
by using hot water and a sponge or scraper
to carefully remove any food residues. Please
do not use dishwashing liquids to preserve
the patina on the plate. Please keep in mind
that the Pyron Plate with its support frame
and cooking support are made of untreated
steel. Therefore, after cleaning please dry and
grease the plate carefully with high-tempe-
rature oil to avoid possible rust formation.
STORAGE
Do not store the Pyron and Pyron Plate with
all its parts unprotected and outdoors. Only
store the Pyron Plate when it is completely
cool and cleaned. Store in a dry place, cover
it with a cloth and avoid moisture due to wa-
terlogging or condensation. Store the Pyron
Plate and Feuerhand Pyron separately, as
the reaction of steel and stainless steel can
lead to heavy rust on the Pyron Plate and the
Pyron. Clean, care and store the Feuerhand
Pyron according to the user manual provided.
Please pay particular attention to cleaning
the outside of the Pyron carefully after use
with the Pyron Plate. Due to the compound
of ash particles and air humidity as well as
potential steel particles rust spots can accu-
mulate on the outside of the Pyron.
