Reversible AB-pressure regulator
(identifier R5-...-6 and R5-...-10)
Pressurizing process With the reversible pressure regulator, the air (duct 1) is
split and routed directly to both pressure regulators. In each
case the regulated air is present in ducts (3) and (5) on the
valve. The valve is therefore operated reversibly (see figure).
This means:
– Duct (3) routes the working pressure to port (2)
– Duct (5) routes the working pressure to port (4).
Exhaust process: Venting occurs in the valve from duct (4) or duct (2) to
duct (1) and in the intermediate plate guided to duct (5) or
duct (3) in the manifold sub-base.
Advantages compared with the AB-pressure regulator:
– Faster cycle times
– 50 % higher exhaust flow rate, as air is not vented via the
pressure regulator. The load on the pressure regulator is
also reduced.
– No quick exhaust valves are required. The exhaust is
ducted completely via the valve terminal.
– Operating pressure is always present at the pressure
regulating valve, as the pressure is regulated upstream of
the valve, i.e. the regulator can always be adjusted. In the
case of the AB-pressure regulator, the valve must switch
for this.
