Removing the battery
Before disposing of your device at the end of its service life, the battery must be removed.
Important:
Please note that these instructions for removal may damage your device beyond
repair. You should only remove the battery if your device has reached the end of its service
life and is ready to be disposed of.
Discharge the battery fully (disconnect device from power supply and leave disconnected
until it shuts down).
Unscrew the housing screws (depending on
model) on the rear using a small Philips
screwdriver.
Use a slot screwdriver (inserted into the
slots on the sides of the housing) to lift off
the rear of the housing.
Pinch off the battery connecting cable.
Remove the battery.
Important:
Once it has been opened, the device must not be reconnected to the power
supply.
Aeroplanes and hospitals
In most aeroplanes, in many hospitals and in many other places the use of electronic devices
is prohibited. The device must not be used in such an environment. Always switch off your
device wherever such requests are made.
CE certificates and RoHs
This device complies with the guidelines of the R&TTE 1999/5/EC and the guideline
2002/95/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27th of January
2003 for restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic
equipment (ROHS). You can find detailed declarations of conformity in the Service & Support

Theft
Please never leave your navigation device unattended in the car. Accessories such as
mounting brackets on the windscreen indicate usage of a navigation device and should
therefore be removed, too.
