OPERATION
PREOPERATION
Unpacking and completing the assembly should
be done on a flat and stable surface, with enough
space for moving the machine and its packaging,
always making use of suitable equipment.
Install the handle in bracket by positioning the
handle in a comfortable position and tightening
the four bolts. Install the debris shield on the
shaft with the provided bracket and bolts. Tight
-
en the bolts after positioning the safety cover
bracket at the appropriate position.
INSTALLING THE BLADE
To install the cutting blade (Fig. 3):
1. Insert the hex-key (2) into the specific hole in
the angle transmission (1) and rotate the blade
(4) by hand until the hex-key enters the inner
hole, blocking rotation.
2. Unscrew the nut (7) in a clockwise direction and
remove the cover (6).
3. Pull out the outer ring-nut (5) and remove the
blade (4).
4. Ensure that the grooves in the inner ring-nut (3)
match up perfectly with the angle transmission (1).
5. Fit the blade (4) and outer ring -nut (5).
6. Refit the cover (6) and the nut (7), fully tighten
-
ing it in an anticlockwise direction.
7. Remove the hex-key (2).
WARNING:
Wear protective gloves when fitting the
blade to avoid getting hurt.
WARNING:
Excessive vibration of the blade could
mean non proper fitting of it and could cause ma
-
chine failure and / or injury. Stop the engine immedi
-
ately and check the blade installation.
INSTALLING THE NYLON HEAD
To install the nylon head (Fig. 4):
1. Insert the hex-key (2) into the specific hole
in the angle transmission (1) and rotate the
cutting line head (4) by hand until the hex-key
enters the inner hole, blocking rotation.
2. Unscrew the cutting line head (4) in a
clockwise direction and remove it.
3. Pull out the outer ring-nut (5).
4. Ensure that the grooves in the inner ring-
nut (3) match up perfectly with the angle
transmission (1).
5. Fit the outer ring-nut (5).
6. Fit the cutting line head (4) screwing it up in
an anticlockwise direction.
7. Remove the hex-key (2).
NOTE:
To replace the nylon head line refer to Fig. 5.
WARNING:
Use only quality nylon monofilament line
of the diameter 2.5mm. Never use wire or wire-rein
-
forced line in place of nylon trimmer line. Load your
nylon line cutting head only with nylon trimmer line
of the proper diameter.
USING THE SHOULDER HARNESS
To use the shoulder harness
:
1. Assemble and adjust the shoulder harness and
belt, as shown in Fig. 6.
2. Hang the latch tab on the harness hook.
3. If the trimmer doesn’t balance, then adjust the
harness hanger, and the handlebar, until the
grass trimmer balances.
WARNING:
The hook is situated at your right hip and
the quick release latch is situated on the outside. Get
to know how to quickly unhook the unit from har-
ness quickly before operating the unit, by pulling the
quick release latch tab upwards.
WARNING:
Keep a firm grip with both hands when
operating by holding the unit with the right hand
on the trigger handle and the left hand on the left
handle.
Before starting work please:
1. Check that all the bolts, nuts and fittings on the
machine are tightly fastened.
2. Check that the air filter is clean and clean or re
-
place with new if needed.
3. Prepare accessories and make sure they are
correctly mounted.
4. Check that the protector is securely in place.
5. Fill with fuel as indicated below and make sure
there is no fuel leakage.
6. Check that the nylon head or blade is not dam
-
aged.
FUELING AND LUBRICATION
WARNING:
Never smoke whilst refueling and avoid
inhaling the petrol fumes.
The unit is equipped with 2-stroke engine. There
-
fore, mixture of unleaded gasoline (of 89 octane or
higher) and 2-stroke oil must always be used. Use
only gasoline that does not contain any ethanol
or methanol. It is very important to pay attention
with the fuel mixture that you use, since accurate
mixture of oil and fuel must be obtained. Small
quantities of oil and fuel mixture with small inac-
curacies, can affect the ratio of mixture, which may
lead to engine overheat and serious damages in
the engine. It is recommended that you mix only
the amount needed for the job that you are about
to do, in order to keep only fresh mixture.
WARNING:
Carefully open the tank top as pressure
could have formed inside.
Especially formulated 2-stroke oil for air cooled
2-stroke engines must be used. Do not use 2-stroke
