est cutters underneath the bar solidly contact
the bar.
Tighten the side cover release knob.
Lightly pull on the chain. The tension is correct
when the chain snaps back after being pulled 2
mm away from the chain bar.
After a short period of use, allow the chain to
cool, remove the battery and check the tension
again. Watch tension carefully for the first half-
hour of use and periodically throughout the life
of the chain readjusting as required when the
chain and bar are cool to the touch. Never ten-
sion chain when it is hot.
Chain will stretch as a result of normal use, how-
ever, insufficient oil, aggressive use, or failure to
perform recommended maintenance can lead to
premature stretching.
OPERATION
ADJUSTING THE TELESCOPING HANDLE (C)
1. Unlock the telescope release lever so that the
pole can freely extend outwards and inwards.
2. Extend it to the desired length and lock the
telescope release lever to hold it in place.
ADJUSTING THE HARNESS (G)
Adjust the harness to a length which is suitable for
your operation
(G)
.
Always use the harness to carry the product
weight on your shoulder (on the same side of tool
or cross your body)!
Ensure that the quick release is on your chest
(NOT on your back).
Open the quick release clamp
(G)
if it is necessary
to open the harness quickly.
TURNING THE POLE SAW ON AND OFF
To turn ON, hold the pole saw firmly with both
hands. Press and hold the safety switch
(2)
locat-
ed on the left-hand side of the rear handle above
the main power trigger. Press down the trigger
(3)
to turn it ON. The safety switch can now be
released. To turn OFF, release the ON/OFF trigger
switch.
PREPARATION
Before each use, check the following items to en-
sure safe working conditions.
POLE SAW:
Before beginning work, inspect the
pole saw for damage to the housing, the exten-
sion cable, the saw chain and the guide bar. Never
use an obviously damaged machine.
OIL TANK:
check the fill level of the oil tank. Also
check whether there is sufficient oil available
while working. Never operate the saw if there is
no oil or the oil level has dropped below the mini-
mum oil level mark in order to prevent damage to
the pole saw. On average, an oil filling is sufficient
for approximately 10 minutes of cutting opera-
tion (depending on the duration of pauses and the
density of the workpiece).
SAW CHAIN:
check the tension of the saw and
the condition of the blades. The sharper the saw
chain is, the easier and more manageable opera-
tions will be. The same applies to chain tension.
Check the tension every 10 minutes of operation
to maximize safety. New saw chains in particular
are subject to changes due to the heat created by
operation.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING:
make sure to wear the
appropriate close-fitting protective clothing such
as chainsaw-protective pants, gloves and safety
shoes. Wear a safety helmet with integrated hear-
ing protection and a face guard to provide protec-
tion against falling and recoiling branches.
HEAD ADJUSTMENT:
The angle of the saw’s
head can be adjusted anywhere from 0 to 30 de-
grees by pushing down on the Angle Adjustment
Button. If you would like to change the angle of
the saw’s head, first remove the battery and then
adjust to the desired angle.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
Remove the battery before in-
specting, adjusting, performing maintenance,
or cleaning the unit.
CLEANING
f
Brush or blow dust and debris out of the air vents us-
ing compressed air or a vacuum. Keep the air vents
free of obstructions, sawdust, and wood chips. Do
not spray, wash, or immerse the air vents in water.
f
Wipe off the housing and the plastic components
using a moist, soft cloth. Do not use strong solvents
or detergents on the plastic housing or plastic com-
ponents. Certain household cleaners may cause
damage or cause a shock hazard.
f
Routinely clean out the dust and debris that gath-
ers under the tension housing, the oil outlet, and
around the bar and the chain sprocket. Otherwise
it can jam up the sprocket, the chain, and the lubri-
cation system.
REPLACING THE SAW CHAIN AND GUIDE BAR
WARNING:
Only use replacement bars and
chains specified by the manufacturer. Incor
-
rect replacement bars and chains may cause
chain breakage and/or kickback.
The guide bar must be replaced if the groove of
the guide is worn out or the spur wheel in the
guide bar is damaged or worn out.
1. Loosen the cover release knob to release the
chain sprocket cover
(D)
. Remove the chain
sprocket cover.
2. Lift the worn saw chain out of the fitted slot in
the guide bar.
3. Place the new chain in this position, making
sure the teeth are facing the correct direction
and that the edge of the chain fits into the slot
around the guide bar.
4. Replace the cover and tighten the release
knob. Adjust tension before operating.
CHECKING THE AUTOMATIC CHAIN LUBRICATION
Regularly check the functionality of the automat-
ic chain lubrication in order to prevent overheat-
ing and the subsequent damage to the guide bar
and saw chain. For this purpose, align the guide
bar tip against a smooth surface (board, cut-in of
