8. Using the Auxiliary Inputs and Outputs
The auxiliary input and output connectors are located on the rear panel of the T100S-HP,
as described in section
Description of the Rear Panel, p. 18.
8.1
Implementing External Modulation
8.1.1
Implementing Low Frequency Intensity Modulation
Subject
You can implement low frequency intensity modulation of the output beam:
•
in the constant-current mode:
•
from DC to 8 MHz for sinusoidal signals
•
from DC to 1 MHz for TTL signals
•
in the APC (constant-power) mode:
•
from 30 kHz to 8 MHz for sinusoidal signals
•
from 30 kHz to 1 MHz for TTL signals
Modulation of the diode current is obtained by applying a signal anywhere between
0 and
5 volts
on the BNC connector labeled
LF Mod
.
Before Starting
Procedure
1.
Connect an external modulation source to the
LF Mod
. BNC connector, as shown in
•
The output impedance of your waveform generator must match the 50
Ω
input
impedance of the T100S-HP
LF Mod
. BNC connector.
Important
Before implementing external modulation via
LF Mod
, input connector, make
sure the system’s active cavity control is disabled (see section
Enabling Active Cavity Control, p. 35
).
