Configuring the Power Button
The power button may be set to send the computer in to either
Standby
or
Hi-
bernate
mode (
Figure 3 - 13
). In
Standby
mode, the LED
will flash
green. In
Hibernate
mode the LED will be orange if AC Adapter powered, or
will be off if battery powered. If you are in a power saving mode set to save
power through individual components (e.g. hard disk, monitor), the LED will
remain green.
Close Cover
If you have set your
computer to enter
Standby
mode when
the lid (“
when I close
the lid of my portable
computer:
”) of the
computer is closed
(the
close cover
switch
acts as a sen-
sor to tell when the lid/
LCD panel is closed),
the system will not re-
sume normal operation
when the lid is opened.
Press a key on the
keyboard to resume
operation.

Sleep/Resume
key combination (
