SD (Secure Digital) Memory Cards
- SD memory cards are one of a type of
next generation memory devices that offer a combination of high storage capac-
ity (currently 16, 32 and 64 MB), fast data transfer rates, flexibility and security
in a memory card about the size of a postage stamp. SD memory cards are non-
volatile, which means they do not require power to retain the information stored
on them. They are solid-state devices, so they have no moving parts to skip or
break down.

- A socket on a computer used to connect a modem, mouse, scanner

Sony Memory Stick
- Sony’s digital portable storage medium. The Memory
Sticks are used for storing and transferring images from digital cameras and dig-
ital music players to personal computers and laptops. These will be added to
PDAs or data-enabled mobile phones.
S/PDIF
- (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format) output, which allows you to
connect your DVD-capable PC to a Dolby AC-3 compatible receiver producing
high quality sound.
