Use the up and down button on the Control Panel to cycle through the languages
available. If you select a language different from the one initially displayed in the Control
Panel, the system reboots and then presents screen text in the language you selected.
16.
At the Setup screen, reenter the customer’s settings from the Configuration page that
you printed earlier.
Bypass settings not included on the Configuration page if it is more appropriate for the
network administrator to set them.
17.
When the RIP Station 5000 reaches the Idle screen, press the eject button and remove
the System Software CD.
Make sure the CD-ROM drive is free of activity before you remove the System Software
CD.
18.
Power off the RIP Station 5000 and the CD-ROM drive.
19.
Remove the SCSI cable from the back of the RIP Station 5000.
Using the parallel port
To install system software through the parallel port on the RIP Station 5000, you need a
PC-compatible equipped with a CD-ROM drive and a parallel cable to connect the PC-
compatible to the bi-directional parallel port on the RIP Station 5000 back panel.
The following procedures describes a system software installation using a PC-compatible
that is running Windows 95 and can be configured for ECP mode on the parallel port.
The PC-compatible needs at least 100MB of disk space free. To speed up the installation,
it is strongly recommended to use a PC-compatible with a parallel port that is or can be
configured for ECP mode.
Setting up the PC-compatible for installing system software over the parallel port may
require changing the BIOS as well as changing specific port and printer settings in
Windows 95.
First follow the procedure for setting up the PC-compatible. Then follow the procedure
for installing system software.
