Accessing internal components
5.
Lift off the center frame and place it on its attached EMI shield.
6.
If you need to access the front panel components, lift off the UIB enclosure. Otherwise,
set aside the front panel, face down on protective foam, with the UIB enclosure in place.
The UIB enclosure can fall away from the front panel if the front panel is not placed face
down.

INSTALL
THE
FRONT
PANEL
1.
Place the front panel face down on protective foam.
2.
If not already done, install the user interface board inside the front panel
(see “To install the UIB” on page 4-15).
3.
Position the UIB enclosure above the front panel and thread the UIB cable through the
slot in the UIB enclosure.
4.
Install the UIB enclosure.
When properly aligned, the eight notches on the shield fit over the eight guides molded
inside the front panel.
Tuck in all the loose metal shielding along the edges of the UIB enclosure. Make sure the
top and bottom lip of the shield rest on the molding.
5.
Place the center frame on the inside front panel so that the UIB cable is ready to be
attached to the motherboard 26-pin header connector J4.
To align the center frame on the inside front panel, use as guides the two standoffs and
center hole on the top of the inside front panel.
