Saving a record
Press [Enter] to save the information just entered. The system closes the record and goes to the title
input screen for the next new record. However, if an error occurs, the system displays one of the
following messages for one second before returning to the previous data input/edit screen.
NO TITLE FIELD!!
The title field is blank. Enter information into the title field before saving the record.
USER MEMORY OVER FLOW!!
There is insufficient memory for sound demo mode to save the current record. Delete other records
and reenter the data.
Canceling to enter records and quitting
Press the [Esc] key while entering data in title input mode or melody input mode to clear all informa-
tion entered in a field. Use the [Esc] key when you want to enter title or melody data from the begin-
ning again.
If you want to to stop record entry and return to the sound demo submenu, press the [Submode] key
([Shift], [Mode]). You can also use the [Mode] key to return directly to the top menu. However, all
information just entered is discarded unless you save the record.
For more information on playing the saved melody data, see the section "Reproducing demo music."
Making corrections to an existing record
(1) Following the procedure for keyword search (described above in "Reproducing demo music"),
display the record you want to correct. (Record display mode)
(2) Press the [Enter] key. The cursor flashes at the first character position of the title field, indicating
that you are in title edit mode. Press the [Esc] key to return to record display mode.
(3) Using the arrow keys [
←
] or [
→
], move the cursor to the position at which you want to make
corrections. If there is no need to correct the title, skip steps (3) and (4).
(4) Press any key to insert a character at the cursor position. The character previously at that location
is shifted one character to the right. If characters already fill all available space in the field, the
overflow characters are deleted.
To delete, use the [BS] key or [Del] key ([Shift], [BS]). The [BS] key deletes the character to the left
of the cursor position, while the [Del] key deletes the character at the cursor position.
(5) After correcting the title, press the [Enter] key. The cursor flashes at the first character position of
the melody data field, indicating that the system is in melody data edit mode. Press the [Esc] key
to return to record display mode. If you press the [Enter] key with the title field blank, the system
displays "NO TITLE FIELD!!" and reverts to title input mode (2).
(6) Using the arrow keys [
↑
], [
↓
], [
←
], or [
→
], move the cursor to the position where you want to
make corrections, then correct the melody data. Use the same method given in (4) to correct data.
If you do not need to correct melody data, skip this step.
(7) When you finish making corrections, press the [Enter] key to save the record. The screen returns to
record display mode in (1). Press the [CR] key ([Shift], [Enter]) to play the melody you've cor-
rected. If the record could not be saved due to insufficient memory, the system displays "USER
MEMORY OVERFLOW!!" for one second before returning to melody data edit mode. Delete any
unnecessary records and redo corrections.
(8) In addition to saving a record, you can use the following methods to exit record data edit mode:
[Esc] key:
Return to record display mode in (1).
[Submode] key ([Shift], [Mode]): Return to the sound demo mode submenu.
[Mode] key:
Return to the top menu.
If you quit edit mode by one of these methods, all corrections for the current record are discarded.
