Selecting the Installation Location
Basic Requirements
Installing the unit in the following places may cause malfunctions. If installation in one of these
locations is unavoidable, please consult the retailer from which you purchased the split air
conditioner.
Do not install the indoor or outdoor unit in a location exposed to strong heat sources, vapors,
or flammable and/or explosive gasses.
Do not install the indoor or outdoor unit in a location exposed to high-frequency devices such
as welding machines or medical equipment.
Do not install the indoor unit in a laundry room.
Do not install the indoor and outdoor units anywhere that animals, plants, or other obstacles
may obstruct airflow.
Indoor Unit Requirements
There should be no obstructions near the air inlet or the air outlet.
Choose a location where condensation can disperse easily without impacting inhabitants.
Choose a location that allows for convenient connection to the outdoor unit, as well as access
to a power socket.
Choose a location that is out of reach of children.
The installation location must be able to support the weight of the indoor unit. Choose a
location that will not increase noise or vibration.
The indoor unit must be installed at least 6.5 feet (7
8”) above the floor. If it is installed lower to
the ground, airflow may fail to circulate throughout the room and air may also blow directly on
room occupants.
Do not install the unit directly above another electronic appliance.
Avoid placing the unit in close proximity to a fluorescent lamp.
Ensure that the installation fulfills the clearance requirements shown in the Installation
Clearance Diagram.
Outdoor Unit Requirements
Choose a location where the noise and outflow air emitted by the outdoor unit will not be
bothersome to you or your neighbors.
Choose a well-ventilated and dry location, in which the outdoor unit will not be exposed
directly to sunlight or strong wind.
Choose a location that can support the weight of the outdoor unit.
Ensure that the installation fulfills the clearance requirements shown in the Installation
Clearance Diagram.
Select a location that is out of reach of children.
