Installing the Outdoor Unit
Step One: Install Support Structure for the Outdoor Unit
1. Select a suitable installation location following the guidelines specified in the
“Selecting the
Installation Location
” section earlier in this document.
2. Follow all instructions provided by manufacturer for installing a ground pad, verifying it is
properly leveled
by using a carpenter’s level.
3. Secure the unit to the ground pad with concrete bolts, expansion screws, or other suitable
anchors. The unit has four (4) foot holes on the base of the unit to be used when securing to
the ground pad.
Note:
Take appropriate protective measures when installing the outdoor unit.
Use at least six (6) expansion screws to secure the support structure. These screws are not
included with the split air conditioner.
Make sure the support can withstand at least four times the weight of the unit.
The outdoor unit must be installed at least 1 ¼” above ground level in order to install the drain
joint.
