3.8 Mute Groups
The console’s mute group section operates similarly to an analog console. There
are eight mute groups. Any channel can be a member of any mute group in any
combination, and multiple assignments are allowed.
To assign a channel to a Mute Group, use the same method described above for
VCAs using the Mute Group buttons in the Channel Assign section. To enable a
Mute Group, use the Mute Group Master buttons located above the Intelligent
Encoder.
In operation, mute groups are additive. For example:
• Channels 2, 4, and 6 are in mute group 1 and channels 1, 3, 4, and 5 are in
mute group 2.
• Enabling mute group 1 mutes channels 2, 4, and 6.
• Enabling mute group 2 mutes channels 1, 3, 4 and 5.
• Simultaneously enabling both mute groups results in channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and
6 being muted, but disabling mute group 1 leaves channels 1, 3, 4, and 5 still
muted.
Mute buttons for channels that are muted as a result of a
group mute flash when the mute group master is active.
Muting the channel via the local mute button overrides
any commands from the mute group system until the local
mute has been removed. If the channel is already muted,
its mute button lights solid, and if unmuted while the
group mute is still active, it remains muted and reverts to
flashing.
In the signal flow diagram, the mute switch for the channel is located just ahead of the channel fader. Conse-
quently, post-fader sends are affected by channel muting while pre-fader sends are not affected.

3.9 System Processing
The system processing section has three inputs and twelve outputs. It implements the processing found in
the general purpose or dedicated processors used in contemporary sound systems for room, zone, and array
tuning. This level and degree of processing fulfills several requirements:
• Crossover network
• Overall and per-output parametric equalization
• Per-output limiting
• Per-output polarity inversion
• Per-output alignment delay
• Per-output muting
