12.2.16 Stereo Internal FX Overview Tab
The four internal effects channels are scaled down versions of the input channels. The FX module is consid-
ered part of the channel’s DSP processing. Thus, the channel is not only the signal processing for the FX, it
is also the point at which you select the internal FX processor. Since each effect is mono-in/stereo-out there
are two channels for each return: left and right. By default, the left and right channels of the effect are linked.
The Internal FX channels have much less DSP than the analog and stereo channels previously described,
thus the
Overview
is much more sparse. It only has the effect and the associated three band EQ, which is
technically part of the effect. Changing effects presets will change the three band EQ settings as well.
The
Overview
screen has the following elements:
•
Input Level Meter
— Mono level meter that displays the send level into the Effect processor.
•
Effect Selection
— A set of buttons that selects the effect for this send.
•
EQ Display and IN button
— Display showing the three-band EQ for the selected effect and the In/Out
button for the equalizer.
•
Output Level Meter
— Stereo level meter that displays the pre-fader level of the effect.
•
Mute Groups
— Eight buttons that assign the Effects channel to any of the eight mute groups.
•
VCA Groups
— Sixteen buttons that assign the Effects channel to any of the sixteen VCA groups.
•
Mute ON button
— Enables the channel mute.
•
Solo ON button
— Sends the channel’s signal to the solo bus.
•
Fader
— The effect return channel fader. The channel fader is normally linked to the opposite channel’s
fader. Unlink the channel if you want to separate the faders, panning, and assignments.
•
Pan control
— The effect return channel pan control. Because the return channels are linked by default,
the channel pan control is normally inversely linked to the opposite channel’s pan control. Unlink the
channels to separate the pan controls.
