Chapter 6: Console Utility Area
This section of the console is located above and to the right of the touchscreen. It has four sections:
• Meter Bridge
• Solo Controls
• Monitor Levels
• Communication
6.1
Meter Bridge
The meter bridge contains 24 peak responding 12-segment LED ladder meters that are used to display sig-
nals in various parts of the console. Control what the meters are showing by pressing the associated buttons:
Inputs 1-24, 25-48, Stereo Inputs 1-8, Aux/Groups 1-24, System 1-12, Matrix 1-8. Expansion Inputs 47-72, and
73-96 can also be viewed by pressing CTRL in combination with Inputs 1-24 or 25-48 respectively, when a
device is connected to the expansion connector.
The Master meters display the Left, Right, and Center/ Mono outputs. The signal displayed is post-main
faders and is the same signal that is sent to the system processor. The red
OL
(clip) LEDs light when the
signal reaches –2 dBFS.
If a solo is enabled, the solo signal appears on the dedicated LR+C/M solo meters. The solo meters always show the
Left, Right, and Center/Mono solo signals independently, no matter the monitoring mode.
The buttons in the meter bridge section of the Utility area mirror those same buttons in the
Utility>Meter
screen. A double-press on any meter bridge button opens the
Utility>Meter
screen, providing a higher reso-
lution view of the meters, including gate and compressor gain reduction. Additional buttons on that screen
select pre-DSP or post-DSP signals for metering.
6.2
Solo Controls
The solo system has both AFL (After-Fader Listen) and PFL (Pre-Fader Listen) buses.
PFL is pre-fader, pre-mute and after the channel’s DSP. PFL solo is always mono except for stereo channels.
AFL is post-fader and stereo. In LCR mode, AFL solo can also be LCR.
The routing of solo signals is also dependent on the console’s Mono/Center Mode in the
Setup > Operation
screen.
