5.9.3 Function of VS Terminals
VS terminals have the same functions as S terminals do. They can be used for multi-functional
digital inputs.

These function parameters set function to the five virtual S terminals VS1 to VS5, which have
the same digital input functions (0 to 59) as ten S terminals do. For more details, see description of
“ F 4 - 0 0 ” to “ F 4 - 0 9 ” .

These function parameters determine active mode of VS1 to VS5.
VS terminals have the same functions as S terminals do. They can be used for multi-functional
digital inputs.
●
0: Decided by state of VYxTo enable the AC drive to detect a fault and stop when input from AI1
input reaches limit, perform the following settings:
– Set A1-00 to 44 to set VS1 for function 44 “User-defined fault 1”.
– Set A1-05 to xxx0 to determine VS1 active state by state of VYx.
– Set A1-11 to 31 to set VY1 for function 31 “AI1 input exceeding limit”.When input from AI1
reaches limit, VY1 becomes on. Then, VS1 becomes on and the AC drive receives user-defined fault.
●
1: Decided by A1-06To enable the AC drive to automatically enter running status after power-on,
perform the following settings:
– Set A1-00 to 1 to set VS1 for function 1 “Forward RUN (FWD)”.
– Set A1-05 to xxx1 to determine VS1 active state by state of A1-06.
– Set F0-02 to 1 to use terminal control as command source.
– Set F8-18 to 0 to disable start protection.
After completing initialization at power-on, the AC drive detects that VS1 set for function FWD
is active. This means the AC drive receives forward run command from VS1 and starts forward
running.
5.9.4 Function of VY
Terminals
VY terminals have the same digital output functions (1 to 41) as Y terminals do. The VY can be
used together with VSx to implement some simple logic control.
