Multi-Net Features
7.8.3.2
Call Delay
The preceding receive delay time controls the scan delay until the transmitter is keyed and
then the Call Delay Time controls the delay. This time is also programmable for 0-7
seconds, and it ensures that a response to your message is heard instead of some other
message occurring on another scanned channel. The Call Delay Timer remains active for
the remainder of the conversation, and controls when normal scanning resumes even if
additional responses are received.
7.8.4
Transmitting In The Scan Mode
When the transmitter is keyed in the scan mode, the programming of “Talk Back Scan”
determines if the transmission occurs on the last selected or the active receive channel.
The three programmable configurations are as follows.
Selected Group -
Transmissions always occur on the last manually selected zone/
channel. To respond to a call not on the selected zone/channel, select the zone/
channel of the call manually.
Last Received Group -
The selected zone/channel changes to the zone/channel of a
call. Therefore, you can always respond to a call without having to manually change
the zone/channel. To return to the previously selected zone/channel, it must be
manually reselected.
Active Group -
The display changes to the zone/channel of a call for the duration of
the call and scan delay period described in Section 7.8.3. Then when the delay
expires and scanning resumes (if it has not disabled), the selected zone/channel is
again displayed. Therefore, you can respond to a call without changing the selected
zone/channel as long as you do so before scanning resumes.
The display usually indicates the channel alias on which a transmission occurs. An
exception is when “Selected” is programmed and a call is received on some other zone/
channel. The display then indicates the channel alias of the call (until scanning resumes)
even though transmitting occurs on the selected zone/channel which may be different.
7.8.5
Nuisance Channel Add / Delete
With group scanning, channels can be temporarily deleted from the scan list, for example,
if messages are not of current interest. This feature is not available with radio wide
scanning. Proceed as follows to temporarily delete a nuisance channel:
Note
The selected channel cannot be deleted from the scan list.
1
While receiving a message on the channel to be deleted, press and hold the Scan option
button until a tone sounds (about one second).
