DO NOT try to break off buried or anchored objects with the clam, while backdragging – it may
bend the clam (Fig. 4.64).
DO NOT side load the clam against anchored objects – especially when open (Fig. 4.65). This may
bend the sides of the clam.

DO NOT clamp objects on only one side of the clam. It causes uneven stresses and may twist the
clam out of the line (Fig. 4.66).
