and this varies with your location on the planet. Magnetic declination is the number of
degrees that separate True North from Magnetic North.
The Draganflyer X8 automatically calculates its magnetic declination and manual
calibration of the magnetic declination is not required. If a manual calibration of the
magnetic Declination is required please contact Draganfly Technical Support.
Vertical Magnetic Field:
Vertical magnetic field or magnetic inclination. The angle at which the Draganfly X8
GPS system reads the earth’s magnetic field varies from location to location. The angle
obtained by the Draganflyer X8 sensors is used to determine the correct calculations for
stable flight.
Improper settings of Vertical Magnetic Field will cause erratic flight. It is
therefore vital that you perform this calibration prior flying the
Draganflyer X8 for the first time or any time your flying location changes
by more than 320 kilometers or 200 miles.
This calibration may be performed using the following instructions or by using a

Turn the Draganflyer X8 Handheld Controller on.
•
Turn the Draganflyer X8 Helicopter on. Stand the
Draganflyer X8 on it’s two front arms on a flat
level surface.
