For your convenience extendable legs which screw into the bottom of the base station case are
stored in the lid of the base station.
Ensure that the locking collars for the adjustments are locked as failing to
ensure this could result in the table leg collapsing.
Positioning Flat Patch Antennas
Unfold the arms on the dual flat patch antenna, and point the face with the bump on it
directly at the area in which the Draganflyer X8 helicopter will be flying. If the area is
large, use one patch antenna to cover half of it, and the second patch antenna to cover the
second half.
Connecting to Computer:
The Base Station connects to your computer through a USB cable, connected to the
“USB” plug on the main control panel and an open USB port on your computer. Once the
ground station software is running and your base station and helicopter are turned on
click the antenna icon iat the top center of the screen, it will turn green when connected to
the base station and red when disconnected.
Powering the Ground Control Base Station:
The Base Station is powered by an internal 3 cell 11.1 volt 1900mAh lithium-polymer
battery inside the base station. This battery will provide approximately 3 hours of
continuous use. To charge this battery simply connect the a/c Base Station Power supply
to an a/c wall outlet and the charging jack on the base station. The Power Supply can also
be used to power the base station for prolonged periods of time. The internal battery will
charge with the base station either turned off or on.
To turn on the base station press and hold the “Power – Select” button on the main
control panel until the display illuminates. To turn off the base station press and hold the
“Power-Select” button, the screen will display “Hold Longer to Shutdown” continue
holding until it displays “Release Now to Shutdown” then release the button and it will
turn off.
Low Voltage Auto-Shutoff:
When the battery becomes fully discharged, a warning message will be displayed,
followed by shutdown of the base station video receiver. If the Beep Sound is enabled, an
audible beep will be heard. To prevent Auto-Shutoff from occurring, monitor the
remaining battery life, and recharge the battery before it becomes too low. The Auto-
Shutoff occurs when the battery voltage level reaches 10.2 Volts or 0%.
Navigating Menus:
When the base station is initially turned on it will display the
