Unpacking
Open the packing container to check whether the MTG1000B device and all accessories have been
in it:
One MTG1000B device
One meter long of power wire (A
C 250V/4A)
E1/T1 transit boxes (the number of the transit box is the same with that of E1/T1 ports)
One network cable
E1/T1 cables (the number of the cables is the same with that of E1/T1 ports)
Serial console cable

Installation of MTG1000B
2.2.1
Put MTG1000B into Cabinet

Use screws to fix a mounting ear on the left and the right of MTG1000B respectively;
2.
Put the MTG1000B device into the cabinet horizontally;
3.
Fix the mounting ears of MTG1000B on the cabinet by using screws.
2.2.2
Connect Ground Wire to MTG1000B
Connect one end of the ground wire to the grounding port on the back of MTG1000B and then connect the other
end to the grounding bar of the cabinet.
2.2.3
Connect MTG1000B to Network
MTG1000B has two network ports, namely the
Ethernet port for services (FE0) and the Ethernet port for
management (FE1). It is advised to connect FE0 to the IP network.
Both FE1 and FE0 can be used to carry out management on MTG1000B, but only FE0 is put in use generally. FE1
is used when there is a need to separate the management on MTG1000B from service processing.
2.2.4
Connect MTG1000B to PSTN
Connect one end of E1/T1 cable to one of the E1/T1 ports of MTG1000B, and then connect the other end an
exchanger or a PBX under PSTN.
