The display shows a first message BUFFER OVERFLOW followed by CHARACTER
LOST
Cause: An overflow condition occurs in the buffer (if the serial interface is selected).
The host is sending data to the printer even if it has been required to stop
transmission.
Action: Check the connection between the printer and the host.
Press PAUSE key to reset the error condition.
Turn the printer off if the buffer must be cleared.

The display shows: COMMUNICATION ERROR
Cause: Communication error.
Action: Check the connection between the printer and the host. Check the Serial I/F
configuration.
Press PAUSE key to reset the error condition.

The display shows a first message NVM CHANGED followed by TYPE ANY KEY
Cause: The printer detects a NVM change.
Action: The operation will be completed as soon as any button will be pressed.
The printer will be inizialized with the factory default values.
6.3.2.3 Not Recoverable Errors
When an error of this kind occurs, the printer is halted and enters in error state.
All these errors cannot be resetted through specific actions and required the powering-off
of the printer.
Typically all these problems appears if an internal error in the BOOSTRAP or normal
operation phases is detected.
If after powering-on the printer the problem appears again, contact your nearest Digital
Customer Service Center.
In the BOOSTRAP phase the following messages can be displayed.
If one of these messages appears, the BOOSTRAP phase is not positively ended and,
consequently, the hardware resources of the printer are not initialized.

PM SET-UP ERR
•
# VOID EXEC LIST

# MFILE CHECKSUM

UNK MFILE TYPE
