“John Doe”) would be:

The
Break Up Wave Files
option will be set to the default option specified in the
Preferences
Window
and will segment each track into wave files of no longer than ten minutes in length. Each separate
wave file will have the same basic name with “_1”, “_2”, and so on, appended to each file name.
The
Automatic Volume Adjustment
option will be set to the default options specified in the
Preferences
Window and will boost the audio level of the created wave files as needed. The SSABR
G2 has a very large dynamic range which enables it to record very quiet and very loud audio. This
option is helpful to make the audio louder when creating wave files that result from very quiet audio.
NOTE: Because of file size limitations within Windows a created wave file will be broken into separate files if it
exceeds a size of 2048 Megabytes (2 Gigabytes). Each separate wave file will have the same basic name with “_1”,
“_2”, and so on, appended to each file name.

WAVE FILE CREATION WINDOW
Figure 6-7: Wave File Creation Window
Clicking the
Begin File Creation
button in the
Create Wave Files
Window will start the process of
creating the wave files. The window will display the
Current File Creation Progress
and show the
Bytes Written
for that individual file. The
Total Progress
will also be displayed indicating the total
percentage of all the wave files written. To stop the wave file creation process click the
Cancel
button.
If any errors or inconsistencies are detected in the image file a log file will be created with the same
name as the wave file, but with the “.log” extension. This file will give you information about where
(in time) the error was detected and from where it was recovered. If no errors are detected, no log file
is generated. If the audio being reconstructed is unrecoverable, silence will be inserted to ensure that
the audio track is the same length as the original.
NOTE: It is extremely rare that a log file will be created (that errors will occur). It is possible that errors will occur
if the battery is exhausted and the SSABR powers OFF before a recording is stopped. These type errors will appear
in the log file as occurring at the end of the track.
