If during the approach to a waypoint, the GPS changes erroneously to the next
waypoint without the validation by Vl100, the following procedure is
activated:
-it appears on the multifunction display the sliding message
” .
-VL100, to make up for this error, is still calculating the data for the navigation
to the previous waypoint not validated, indicating the correct direction and
distance
ERR GPS SKIPPED

.
-the ADF direction indicator flashes to signal that the navigation calculated by
VL100 is correct but that the GPS is giving the wrong direction to the next
waypoint. The pilot so can follow the VL100’s indicator to reach the waypoint
not validated.
Normally, after waypoint validation (indicated by VL100 with message WPOK
or SPOK) and after a relocation of 1000 mt in normal case or of the Start
Pylon’s radius value, the GPS should direct itself to the next waypoint. If it
doesn’t, and the GPS continues pointing the way to the waypoint you have just
reached, the VL100 will start this procedure:
- the sliding message “
” will appears on the multifunction
display.
- the VL100 will wait for the pilot manually change the destination waypoint
on the GPS, that must be different from the waypoint just validated.
- now on the multifunction display the sliding error message disappears
automatically and VL100 retakes again the normal navigation to a new
waypoint.
It is possible to stop the message by a shortly pressure of the
key.
ERROR 2 - the GPS doesn’t change to the next waypoint, despite a waypoint
having been validated.
