3.1 Enabling the Bluetooth
®
Interface
Using the scanner for the first time requires pressing the magic key to turn the scanner on. This enables the connection via the
Bluetooth
®
interface.
Note:
· Always disable this scanner’s Bluetooth
®
interface in hospitals, aircraft, and other environments where the
Bluetooth
®
radio waves (2400 to 2483.5 MHz, maximum 2.5 mW) present a potential safety risk.
This scanner interprets the “End operation” Bar Code symbol given in Section 11.2 according to the procedure in
Section 11.1 as a command to disable the Bluetooth
®
interface.
· When the “End operation” Bar Code symbol is set to the scanner after it is used last time, it can no longer scan codes
except the “Start operation” Bar Code symbol and the barcode on the back of the BA series communications adapter.
The Bluetooth
®
interface is enabled by scanning the “Start operation” Bar Code symbol given in Section 11.2
according to the procedure in Section 11.1.
