Connect the computer and devices to electrical outlets, and turn them on.
Installing a CD/DVD Drive

Follow the procedures in
Before You Begin
.
2.
If you are installing a new drive, unpack the drive and prepare it for installation.
Check the documentation that accompanied the drive to verify that the drive is configured for your computer. If you are installing an IDE drive, configure
the drive for the cable select setting.

Remove the computer cover (see
Removing the Computer Cover
).
4.
Remove the drive panel (see
Removing the Drive Panel
).
5.
If another device is installed in the CD/DVD drive bay, remove that device (see the appropriate instructions in this section).
6.
If the CD/DVD drive bay is unpopulated, remove the drive panel insert (see
Removing a Drive-Panel Insert
).
7.
If no screws are attached to the drive, check the inside of the drive panel for screws.
Attach screws to the new drive.
8.
Gently slide the drive into place until you hear a click or feel the drive securely installed.
NOTICE:
To connect a network cable, first plug the cable into the network port or device and then plug it into the computer.
CAUTION:
Your computer is heavy (it has an approximate minimum weight of 55 lbs) and can be difficult to maneuver. Seek assistance before
attempting to lift, move, or tilt it; this computer requires a two-man lift. Always lift correctly to avoid injury; avoid bending over while lifting. See
