Notes
A. Complete the problem solving procedures in the DEC Network Integration
Server Problem Solving guide. The procedures in this guide check:
•
The DECNIS 600 software configuration information
•
The state of the link, circuits, and modems
If you complete the procedures and the problem can be isolated to the
hardware, go to the next step on the flowchart.
B. Check the communication cables associated with the line that could be
causing the problem (the software problem solving procedures should
isolate the line).
There may be a fault with the communication cables or the distribution
panel (if used), that could not be detected by the diagnostic tests when the
system was powered up.
Follow the procedures on the Network Interface Card’s Problem Solving
card.
C. The Network Interface Card’s Cabling Instructions and Specifications card
shows how to replace the communications cables and distribution panel (if
used).
D. Enter the following NCL command at the host node:
NCL> SHOW NODE
server ALL ATTRIBUTES
where server is the name for the DECNIS 600.
If the attributes for the DECNIS 600 are displayed, the command is
successful.
