Starting a System with Factory-Installed Software

Startup Screen
If your system has the DEC OSF/1 AXP operating system
factory-installed, you will see a display similar to the one shown
in Figure 6–5 when you first turn on your system and after the
system startup messages are completed.

During this startup procedure, you will be prompted to enter
the following information:
o a system name
o a new superuser password
o your local time zone
o the date and time
To discontinue this procedure and halt your system,
enter n at the following prompt.

Dialog The DEC OSF/1 AXP Factory-Installed Software procedure that
runs when you start your system prompts you to answer some
questions and gives you instructions for completing installation
of your DEC OSF/1 AXP operating system.
