The pr int er m akes I P r equest s at pow er - up, so befor e m aking a net w or k connect ion t o t he pr int er
consider how your I P addr essing needs t o be assigned. The I P addr essing of t he pr int er can be
configur ed in one of t w o w ay s: Using a st at ic I P Addr ess or Using I P Discover y ( DHCP, Boot P, or
RARP) . At fa ct or y de fa u lt se t t in gs I P D I SCOV ERY is EN ABLED ( D H CP) .
1. Wit h Pr int er Off, connect t he net w or k cable t hen t ur n on Pr int er .
2. The pr int er w ill now sear ch for a DHCP ser ver. Once t he pr int er has obt ained an I P addr ess
t he icon
w ill be displayed signifying t hat an I P addr ess has been obt ained. Allow up t o 90
seconds for t he pr int er t o r et r ieve an I P addr ess.
3. At t his point it is r ecom m ended t o pr int a Net w or k Repor t .
This Net w or k Repor t is gener at ed by t he pr int er and list s
im por t ant default inform at ion such as t he I P and MAC
Addr esses as w ell as SSI D for w ir eless equipped car ds. To
pr int t he ‘Net w or k Repor t ’: Pr ess t he PAUSE, FEED ,
CAN CEL but t ons at t he sam e t im e.
4. Ver ify t he pr int er has obt ained a valid I P addr ess for your
net w or k. I f a valid I P addr ess w as not obt ained or you w ish
t o use a differ ent st at ic addr ess t his can be set via t he
pr int er ’s fr ont panel.

new par am et er s you pr ovided.
