To prevent the assembly from dropping when you remove the securing screws,
support the bottom of the back of the fan assembly with one hand. Then use a
medium Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws and washers that secure
the fan assembly to the back of the computer unit, as shown in Figure 11Ć2.

Still supporting the bottom, pull the fan assembly out and down to disengage it
from the computer unit asshown in Figure 11Ć3.

Slide the fan assembly out from under the computer unit.
Return the failed fan assembly to Data General. Contact the Customer Support Center,
asdescribed in the Preface, for information on returning the faulty part.
