5.3.2 Gain Setup
5.3.2.1 DL Gain Setup
22. On the GUI main Operation screen select particular DAU. The DAU Status section of the screen becomes
active. See Figure 5-7 for details.
23. Click on “Update from Device” button to get the latest DAU status. Read “DL Input Power Level” and
calculate the DL Gain you want to set (dependant on desired output power). Calculate initial DL
attenuator value as Max. Gain (55 dB) – Desired Gain (e.g. if desired Gain is 40 dB, than attenuator
setting should be 15 dB).
24. Set DL Attenuator to calculated value. Click on “Set Parameter(s)” button.
25. On the GUI main Operation screen select particular DRU. The DRU Status section of the screen
becomes active. Activate the PA by clicking on “PA Status On” button. Click on “Set Parameters” button
to change the PA settings.
26. Click on “Update from Device” button to get the latest DRU status. Read the “DL Actual Gain” (calculated
by subtracting “DL Output Power Level” reading from “DL Input Power Level” reading). If necessary fine
tune DL Gain by further adjusting DL Attenuator on the DAU Status section of the screen.
