4.2.3 Optical Attenuator

If the long reach SFP optical transceiver modules are installed in an Access and remote unit, proper care shall be

taken to ensure that optimum optical signal level reaches the optical receiver. The 15 dB SC/SC optical

attenuators (quantity: 6) are provided with each DAU to ensure that receiver is in the operating range when low

length optical fiber runs are used between DAU and DRUs.
