6.2 DOR Networking
Dali’s DAUs and DRUs support star, daisy-chain and hybrid type networking. Figure 6-2 shows typical network
topologies supported:

6 spoke star around DAU1
•
Daisy-chain with DAU2
•
Hybrid star/daisy-chain with DAU3
Each DAU supports a maximum of 6 optical interfaces. Each optical interface supports data rates of up to 6.144
Gbps (CPRI option 6).
Currently up to six DRUs can be connected in a daisy-chain network topology. Hence, one DAU can serve the
hybrid network of maximum 36 DRUs.
DAU and DRUs in a star network, or DRUs in a daisy-chain network, are connected via single Single-Mode Fiber
(SMF) cable using 1310nm and 1550nm lasers/photodiodes inside pluggable SFP optical transceivers.
