5 OPERATION
This Section outlines steps for powering up DOR system and verifying proper operation. Procedure assumes that
DAU and DRUs have been installed in accordance with the process outlined in Section 4.
5.1 Pre-Operation Procedure
5.1.1 DAU Installation Checkup
1. Verify that DAU power switch is in OFF position.
2. Ensure that 15 A GMT fuse is installed in the circuit that supplies power to the DAU.
3. Verify that DC voltage level at the DAU power connection is n 48 VDC (use DC voltmeter).
4. Verify that all RF cables, fiber cables, and DC cables are connected to the DAU, and properly secured.
5.1.2 DRU Installation Checkup
5. Set circuit breaker located inside AC breaker box that supplies power to DRU, to ON position.
6. Verify that AC voltage level at the junction box is between 110 and 120 VAC (use AC voltmeter).
7. Verify that all RF cables, fiber cables, and DC cables are connected to the DAU, and properly secured.
5.2 System Power Up
System power-up encompasses: turning on the power for DAU and DRU, accessing the M&C software
application (IP addresses acquiring), setting the site ID’s (operator ID, location ID, and Base Station ID), adjusting
channel frequency (channel selective DOR only), adjusting DL and UL Gain, and adjusting DL and UL delay.
5.2.1 Access to M&C Software Application
The Dali DOR management system is an embedded software application that runs on a web server supported by
the onboard Linux OS. It is accessed via IP connection using a Web browser. This application provides intuitive
Graphical User Interface (GUI) for Monitoring and Control (M&C) of a Dali DOR network.
Each DAU comes with integrated router (with embedded VPN server), and unique name assigned during
manufacturing process. The DAU unique name (e.g.
DW-DAU-CC001
) can be found on the product label, located
at the back panel, below the Serial number.
As soon as the DAU and DRUs in the network are powered ON, the router will assign dynamic IP addresses to
the DAU and all DRUs that are connected to that DAU. Ensure that your laptop/PC has DHCP function enabled.
