(B) Piston Pin and Brushing Clearance
1. Measure the piston pin O.D. with an outside
m i c r o m e t e r.
2. Measure the piston pin busing I.D. with an inside
m i c r o m e t e r.
3. If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit with
new bushing, replace the piston pin.
(C) Replacing Piston Pin Bushing
1. Press out the bushing, using a piston pin bushing
replacing tool.
2. Clean the new bushing and the bore and apply oil
to them.
3. Press in the bushing, using the replacing tool.
I M P O RTANT :

Align the oil holes of the connecting rod and the
b u s h i n g .
(D) Piston ring Gap
1. Push down the ring into the cylinder to the lower
limit of ring travel in the assembled engine with a
p i s t o n .
2. Measure the ring gap with a feeler gauge.
3. If the gap exceed the allowable limit, replace the
piston ring.
