EMERGENCY CHECKLIST
3.3.1 ENGINE FIRE DURING START
Starter ............................................................. Crank engine
Continue to get a start that would suck the flames and
accumulated fire into the engine.
If engine starts:
Power ................................... 1700 RPM for a few minutes
Engine ............ Shut down by pulling mixture to idle cut-off
Have a qualified technician thoroughly inspect the engine
and the airframe.
If engine fails to start:
Mixture ............................................................. Idle cut-off
Throttle ..................................................................... Open
Fuel Selector ................................................................ Off
Have a qualified technician thoroughly inspect the engine
and the airframe.
If fire persists:
Fire Extinguisher .......................... If safe to do so, remove
extinguisher and attempt
to extinguish fire
IF FIRE PERSISTS, ABANDON AIRCRAFT AND
SUMMON HELP.
