
GB522M/N Replacement Procedures
The following procedures are included in this section to prepare a GB522M/N expansion blade before replacing
failing components/assemblies. The replacement procedures in this

document begin with the GB522MN chassis removed from the subrack and placed on an ESD safe
work surface with the cover removed. These preparation procedures are not repeated in each component/
assembly replacement procedure.

NOTE:

GB522MN Expansion Blade Removal
1.
Power down the expansion blade using ACE, IPMI, or iSCB commands.
2.
Check that the power status LEDs on both the compute blade and attached expansion blade are off.
3.
Disconnect all Ethernet, InfiniBand (IB), and other I/O cables from the rear of the compute blade.
4.
Lift up the ejector handle on the bottom of the GB522 compute blade. Refer to the following figure.
5.
Pull the ejector handle to unseat the GB522 from the subrack midplane and pull/remove the GB522 from the
subrack.
