
GB522X Replacement Procedures
The following procedures are included in this section to prepare a GB522X chassis before replacing failing
components/assemblies. The replacement procedures in this

document begin with the GB522X chassis removed from the subrack and placed on an ESD safe work surface
with the cover removed. These preparation procedures are not repeated in each component/assembly
replacement procedure.

GB522 Overview and Replacement Videos
GB522X Power Down
1.
Power down the GB522X using ACE, IPMI, or iSCB commands.
2.
Check that the power status LED on the front is off.
3.
Disconnect all Ethernet, InfiniBand (IB), and other I/O cables from the rear of the blade.
GB522X Chassis Removal and Installation
First, power down the GB522X and disconnect all cables.
Removal
1.
Lift up the ejector handle on the bottom of the GB522X. Refer to the following figure.
2.
Pull the ejector handle to unseat the GB522X from the subrack midplane.
3.
Remove the GB522X from subrack and place it on an ESD-safe work surface.
