8.3. Updating Craftware Pro
Automatic update
»
By default, the application has a built-in automated updating process. If the computer is connected to the
Internet, Craftware Pro will search for any updates when started.
»
If the application finds a newer version, it will indicate that the update will start after the application is closed.
»
The indication can be found next to the Login menu:
»
When the automatic update is ready, it will start the update process right after closing the application.
Windows & Linux
•
The update process requires administrator privileges. During the update process, first the current version is
uninstalled so every entry for it is cleaned from the system, then the new version is installed. This means that
administrative privileges will be needed two times: once for the uninstallation, and once for the installation. You
will see the installer window with the uninstallation/installation progress when this request happens..
Automatic update
If you wish to update manually rather than using the automated update mechanism, you can turn it off in the settings
window:
•
It is recommended to leave the automated update turned on as the application has frequent updates with new
features and bug fixes.
•
If you experience a bug, first make sure you have the latest version of the software installed. The bug may have
already been fixed if you have an outdated version.
