Thickness Adjustment Slider
In this example, the button position shows the slider set for an
original that is 6mm. (0.24
”
) thick.
Quick Method -
stiff and thick original types only.
You can use the following Quick method for stiff and hard surface originals.
This method is not recommended for soft or flexible media such as
originals mounted on foam boards, as there is a high risk for creating an
over-tight insertion slot and causing damage to the original.
1. Insert your fingers in the insertion slot and lift to open the scanning
area lid.
2. Press down on the right slider and move inwards (towards middle of
scanner) to the highest setting - 16mm (0.63
”
).
3. Repeat with the left slider. Your pressure platen is now fully raised to it
maximum height.
4. Slide the original into the insertion slot and under the fully raised
pressure-platen.
5. With both hands, press down gently on each side of the pressure-
platen until you feel it contacts the original underneath.
6. The sliders will move and adjust themselves to the proper height.
7. Be sure to control that both sliders (on each side) are set to the same
thickness value. If not, adjust one side so they are equal.
8. The
Paper Ready
key will turn yellow (stop blinking) when the
pressure-platen is positioned correctly and is ready for thick media
scanning. If it keeps blinking, press the paper reverse key to feed out
the thick original and then reinsert for scanning.
