7. Installation/Setup
c) Ceiling, Wall or Crossbeam Installation
• If you do not want to set up the device on the floor but mount it on the ceiling, the wall or a suitable crossbar system,
attach the effect light with its assembly bracket assembly bores. The mounting material and accessories used must
be suitable for the attachment type and able to bear the load of the effect light.
• Alternatively, the crossbeam can also be installed with the two M10 threaded bores in the top of the housing.
• Use self-securing nuts or screws at the attachment points for attachment.
• Additionally secure the installation with a suitable and certified safety retention rope or safety net with a load
carrying capacity of 12 times the effect light. The safety retention rope or the net must be designed to support the
effect light in the event of failure of the main support system independently of the main attachment. The effect light
must be caught after free fall of no more than 20 cm if the main support system is defective.
8. DMX Connection
You can operate a maximum of 32 devices in a DMX chain without overloading the controller.
The maximum total length of the DMX chain should not exceed 500 m.
Use of XLR microphone cables may cause interferences in the DMX signal transmission. In this
case, please use special DMX high-frequency cables.
a) Connection of a DMX controller
Only connect the device to a DMX controller with a DMX-512 protocol.
• Connect the port DMX IN (6) with the output of the DMX controller.
• The controller must have 4 or 16 free control channels (depending on DMX operating mode set at the effect light).
• Connect DMX OUT (5) with the DMX input of the subsequent device.
• Proceed accordingly with all other devices of the DMX chain.
• If the effect light is the last or the only device in the DMX chain, insert an XLR plug with a 120 ohm/0.25 W terminating
resistor into the DMX OUT (5) socket (between Pin2 and Pin3).
