5–14   DIGITAL PowerStorm 1000 Graphics Subsystem Owner's Guide

5.10 Vertex Module

Perform the following procedure to remove the Vertex Module from the PowerStorm 1000
graphics subsystem deskside chassis:

1.  Perform a normal system power down (see Section 5.2).

2.  Remove the left side panel (see Section 5.4).

3.  Remove the module hold-down bracket (see Section 5.5).

4.  Put on an antistatic wriststrap.

An antistatic wriststrap must be worn when handling any board or module to
prevent damage to the board or module.

5.  Pull out on the levers 

™ at each end of the Vertex Module (see Figure 5-8).

6.  Slide the Vertex Module out of the card cage.

To replace the Vertex Module in slot 2 (2nd slot from the top), reverse steps 1 through 6 of
the removal procedure.
