3.9 System OGMs (Outgoing Messages)
The next step in installation is to record up to four outgoing messages (OGMs) which contain your
personal or company’s greeting messages and information about the extension numbers, exchanger
service messages, and fax announcement.
OGM 1 (Greeting messages and information about the extension numbers)
OGM 1 contains your personal or company’s greeting and information about the extension
numbers for the Business Hours mode. You have approximately 19 seconds to record OGM 1.
OGM 1 EXAMPLE:
“You have reached the offices of XYZ corporation. Please press the extension of the
party you are trying to reach. Press 0 to speak to the operator. Thank you.”
OGM 2 (When a caller presses a wrong number)
You have approximately five seconds to record OGM 2.
EXAMPLE:
“You have pressed a wrong number, please try again.”
OGM 3 (Fax announcement)
OGM 3 is to give the caller instructions. You have approximately 8 seconds to record OGM 3.
OGM 3 EXAMPLE:
“Please press any button ‘NOW’ to reach the operator, or press the ‘START’ button
on your fax.
Note:
OGM 3 is played when
LINE 2
is assigned only for fax/ voice mode (see Page 6, Section 3.4).
OGM 4 (After Hours operation)
Record your personal or company’s greeting and information about the extension numbers for the
After
Hours
mode. You have approximately 13 seconds to record OGM 4.
OGM 4 EXAMPLE:
“Our business hours are from 9 am to 5 pm. If you know your party’s extension,
please dial it now to leave a message or press 0 for the general mailbox. For an urgent call, press 25 and
your call will be connected to the urgent help line.”
