d) Change the engine oil following the instructions given in chapter 11 “Maintenance”.
Remove the spark plug (Fig. 109) and pour a
spoon of clean motor oil into the cylinder.
Allow the engine to turn a few times to distribute
the oil and then replace the spark plug.
Blow the pull start cord (Fig. 110) until resistance
is felt.
Continue to pull until the notch in the pulley lines
up with the hole in the pull start (see the illustration
in figure 111). At this point, the suction and
discharge valves are closed and this helps to
protect the engine from internal corrosion.
