5.3 Power up
5.3.1 To connect the power cable to the ACU
1. Connect the positive and negative input terminals to the ship's DC supply according to
DC Input connector on page 4-1.
2. Connect the power plug to DC Input.
3. Connect the power cable to the modem.
5.3.2 Power-up procedure
1. Connect power to the modem.
2. Switch on the ACU. The unit starts up and goes through an initialization procedure:
• ACU POST
• ADU Initializing
• ADU POST
• READY
This may take some time (up to a couple of minutes).
3. The SAILOR 900 Ka is ready to be calibrated (for first time power up) or receive data
from the modem (when in normal operation).

Make sure there are no hardware failures or error codes present, check the display of the
ACU for events. For more information on error codes and events see
