TROUBLESHOOTING AND ELECTRICAL
SYSTEM: PEDAL-START GAS VEHICLE
TEST PROCEDURE 9 – Maintenance/Operate Switch – Pedal-Start Vehicles
See General Warnings on page 1-1.
NOTE:
This is a continuity test.
The Maintenance/Operate Switch is also known as the Neutral Lockout Switch.
1.
If necessary, see Testing Basics on page 18-15.
2.
Remove wires from switch
3.
With switch in position 1 (MAINTENANCE):
3.1.
Check for no continuity between terminals T1 and T2.
3.2.
Check for continuity between terminals T2 and T3.
4.
With switch in position 2 (OPERATE):
4.1.
Check for no continuity between terminals T2 and T3.
4.2.
Check for continuity between terminals T1 and T2.

Toggle Position Operates:
2. Position 2 (OP.) closes
T1 to T2
3. T1 – Black/Pink Stripe, T2 – Black, T3 – Black/Yellow Stripe

If switch:
5.1.
does not work as stated in previous steps, replace switch.
5.2.
does work as stated and the MAINTENANCE/OPERATE modes still do not work:
– Check the limit switches.
– Check continuity of the wires involved.
