12 character password, press [
EXIT
],
re-enter the password to confirm it, and finally
press [
EXIT
]. If confirmation fails, the password sequence will have to be repeated.
A secret password exists for cases in which the supervisor’s password has been
forgotten. All CI-154’s are programmed to accept this password (from the
supervisor only) besides the one created by the supervisor. Please contact Climet
Instruments Co. or your local service provider to obtain this password.
2.14.2
Add/Remove users
While in the security screen, pressing [
ADD
/
REMOVE USERS
] brings up the user screen.
It looks like, and functions identically to, the ID screen. New users can be added (a
maximum of 20) and deleted. The only real difference is that a security level screen
appears after adding a user (user names are 1 to 16 characters) and pressing [
EXIT
].
This screen shows the new user name with security level set at 1. This level can be
changed by pressing [
SECURITY LEVEL
], entering the desired level, and pressing [
EXIT
]
to return to the user screen. Values entered above 4 are set to 4, while 0 is set to 1.
A default level of 1 is assigned if nothing is entered. Exiting the user screen returns
to the security screen.
While in the user screen it will be noticed that the highlight bar can be moved to just
below the last user listed. This allows the next added user to be appended to the
bottom of the user list. If the highlight is on a user’s name when a new user is
inserted, the new user’s name is placed immediately above the highlight.
Also of significance in the user screen is the red lettering of all user names that do
not have a password assigned yet. This is literally a red flag to warn that a password
needs to be entered by the user to prevent unauthorized access to the CI-154.
Users with passwords have their names in black print, just like the log in screen.
The [REMOVE ALL USERS] button is available on this screen. Pressing this button
will remove all user names and passwords after pressing [YES] to confirm.
2.14.3
Auto log off
Auto log off causes the unit to enter a secure mode after a period of inactivity. This
helps prevent unauthorized users from affecting settings and data if a logged on
user leaves the unit unattended. Auto log off, when activated (and security is
enabled), causes the CI-154 to display the main screen with the keys disabled and
grayed out after a predetermined time (1 to 999 minutes) of key press inactivity. A
timer holding this value is reset whenever any key is pressed. Any sampling in
progress will be unaffected by the auto log off timer timing out before the end of
sampling. However, it must be realized that if a new user logs on during sampling,
every sample completed after the instant of log on will have the new user’s name
attributed to that sample. The new user may not be the user who initiated the
sampling. The secure main screen will return if a user fails to log in.
While in the security screen, pressing [
AUTO LOG
-
OFF MINUTES
] brings up a numerical
entry screen similar to other parameter entry screens. Pressing [
ENTER
] after the log
off entry returns the unit to the security screen. Values entered greater than 999
are truncated to 999, while zero is elevated to a value of 1. No entry results in the
previous value being set. The log off timer begins as soon as the security screen is
exited.
