Safety precaution. When the beam

Detect the trailing edge of the
flatwork entering the clutch roll.
Three sensors are activated when
the beam is interrupted by flatwork.
The clutch stops when the flatwork

sensor beam on that side.

being completely spread and slows
the spread speed.

Sensors
Detect the presence of the corners
in the spreader clamps. If both
sensors do not activate at the same
time, then a corner is missing and
the piece is dropped to the floor
reject conveyor.

Sensors
Detect and prevent material from
entering and getting jammed in
the lower spreader belt pulleys.
When either sensor is tripped, the
spreader reverses direction, and
returns the flatwork to the center of
the unit where it will be dropped.

PE8, PE20 Tail Sensors Detect the trailing edge of an
item as it travels up the discharge
conveyor. This sensor controls the
sequencing of the spreading and
laydown for the next item.

PE23 Gap/Exit Sensor Detects flatwork as it exits the
feeder and enters the next unit.
When flatwork is no longer detected,
the discharge conveyor accelerates,
bridging the gap between pieces to
compensate for feed rate variations.
