Attach the new transfer clamp assembly to
the bottom of the rodless air cylinder with
thread coated screws.
Re-attach the air cylinders to the new
transfer clamp assembly by reversing
Step 3 of the Removing the Assembly
procedure.
Make sure to use the Keps nut at the
rod end (Figure 7-14, A) and nylon nut
at the other.
Make sure to place the flat washer
(Figure 7-14, B) between the cylinder
end and the assembly.
Allow just a little free-play.
Make sure the jaws move freely. If not,
check the bolts and clevis for binding,
and check the air cylinder rod end for free
movement on its bearing.

Transfer Clamp Eccentric Grooved
Bearing Tension Adjustment
If a transfer clamp becomes loose on its
carriage rail, tension on the eccentric grooved
bearings (Figure 7-15) must be adjusted.
Note that all four grooved bearings on the
assembly are actually identical. The eccentric
bearings are identified as such because the bolts
which secure the pair are eccentric, while the bolts
which secure the other pair are straight.
When tension on the eccentric bearings can
no longer be properly adjusted, it indicates a
bearing pair is worn and needs replacement
as covered in the Transfer Clamp Grooved
Bearing Replacement procedure which follows
this one.
Required Tools
5 mm, 13 mm wrenches (supplied)
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Retrieve the two adjustment wrenches
from the small cloth bag in the right
endframe.
